Creating Windows 7 Ribbon is easy. Just add the UICC.xsd schema to the Visual Studio XML editor, and start typing. The main problem is to create the images. Ribbon images are 32bpp bmp files. You cannot use the Windows Paint. I found that this http://www.qualibyte.com/ PixelFormer application is a very good Ribbon icon editor.

For those who don't want to create their own Ribbon xml and image files. You can use the Ribbon sample from the Windows 7 developer kit:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=12100526-ed26-476b-8e20-69662b8546c1&displaylang=en

Just run the application from command line and provide the path to the ribbon xml file:

RibbonExplorer.exe C:\Windows7TrainingKit\Labs\Module05_Ribbon\Source\EX03_Starter\RibbonApp\ribbonmarkup.xml
